Plantation is a city in Broward CountyFlorida, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census the population was 84,955.[7] It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area. The city’s name comes from the previous part-owner of the land, the Everglades Plantation Company, and their attempts to establish a rice plantation in the area.[8][9][10]

As of the 2010 census, the city has a total area of 21.93 square miles (57 km2), of which 21.74 square miles (56 km2) is land and 0.19 square miles (0 km2) (0.87%) is water.[77]
